Do your best, and leave the rest...

Updated: Sep 12, 2017

We are all used to this saying and have been taught that God only steps in when we have done our best. A few days ago, while my wife and I were talking, I mentioned the same phrase to her in regards to a situation that we were dealing with.

She pondered for a moment and then responded. She said, "Don't you really think that we ought to do the opposite?" I was startled and was dumbfounded by that question. She continued..."I believe we should really rest in the Lord and leave the best to Him"

Right at that moment, it hit me like a ton of brick, that she was actually right. The scripture tells us "without faith it is impossible to please God". If we can't believe the God of possibilities to do what He does best, how can we assume His role to do our best and expect Him to be passive?

While I believe that we ought to put our faith to practice and works, I do believe there is an element of where we have to let go and let God!
